Senior of the year 2025
Brenda Bator
Brenda Bator has been a champion and tireless volunteer for the Thorold Centre 50+. When she first became President, it was known as the Thorold Seniors Centre. To make the Centre a more identifiable place to younger older adults, it was renamed during the 40th Anniversary
Celebrations for the Centre last year. This, and several community building activities, events, and classes introduced during her time, resulted in increased membership and younger older adults joining the Centre, with a current membership of 284. Congratulations Brenda!

Senior of the year 2024
Muriel Raymond
Muriel Raymond joined the seniors' association more than 30 years ago; she has been teaching exercise classes for over 20 years. These classes are among the most well-attended activities at the Centre, and she has ensured that they are accessible to all. We are very grateful for all Muriel has done for our Centre. Keep up the hard work, and congratulations!

Senior of the year 2023
Dave Handley
Dave Handley has been an active volunteer for over 40 years, volunteering with the Canadian Society for decades, driving veterans and seniors around the city, serving as the longest executive member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 17, and being the past president. He now serves as our very own vice president here at the Centre! We greatly appreciate Dave Handley's hard work and dedication. Good job, Dave!
